USAF MA-1 Bomber Aviator "L"

The MA-1 bomber jacket (also known as the MA-1 flight jacket) is an American military jacket developed in the 1950s . The MA-1 and its predecessor, the B-15, were originally developed for the comfort of pilots flying the new jet aircraft. Nylon, invented during World War II and used for military parachutes, was not put into production for military clothing until after the war. The first MA-1 jackets were issued to pilots and flight crews of the United States Air Force and Navy . Small numbers were also issued to Army aircrew. The design makes for a comfortable fit, features two slanted pockets, two inside and one on the sleeve.
